The
Bass University Instructor and FLW Tour pro Adrian "Jesey Boy" Avena
writes below about his journey from sitting in The Bass University
classroom as a student, to becoming an instructor at the Edison, NJ
class on January 12, 2014:

Everyone always stresses the importance of getting a good education, and I can honestly credit much of my success to the time sitting in the classroom. Much of those classes were business related in some way or another, such as math, advertising, marketing, and the list goes on. But one important class that I will never forget is when I attended my first Bass University at the Oaks, PA show in 2011. Yes, just a few years ago I was taking notes on finesse techniques from former Bassmaster Classic Champion Mike Iaconelli and I also took notes on strategic ways to dissect grass from Bassmaster Open winner Dave Wolak. Words cannot describe the amount I have learned in those series of seminars which only lasted a single day. Information given from top professionals in the world who learned these techniques through experience and countless hours on the water. It's hard to believe these guys are willing to share fishing tips that help them make a living fishing, but they DO! Just a few weeks ago I was blessed to speak to those who attended The Bass University in Edison, NJ. Being a Professional Fisherman on the FLW Tour nicknamed the “Jersey Boy,” who could have asked a better experience to speak to those who have supported me for the last few years, and lifted me to qualify for the Forrest Wood Cup two consecutive years. I am not going to lie, it was a bit intimidating speaking along side two of the most renowned bass fishing professionals Mike Iaconelli, and Gerald Swindle. But boy am I grateful for that opportunity, and I can only hope another may come I can credit my education!

Until Next Time,

Jersey Boy
